Coffs Creek is a small creek system at the end of Coffs city, it is a rather shallow system with many visitors dropping a line, with these factors combined it doesnt produce too many fish. The the casual fisho its best to just soak a bait with the family at a few of the fishing spots mark on the map, for hardcore anglers with some patience there is the chance of some good Flathead, Bream and Mangrove jack.

Coffs Creek fishing is best done via a kayak, stealth is the best approach is a heavily fished system. Lighter gear that usual and a finesse approach is required when using lures fishing Coffs Creek.

Fishing Coffs Creek the usual catches can be expected, Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Trevally and even Mangrove Jack. Mangrove jack are best targeted in Summer especially with lure fishing.

Coffs Harbour out to Muttonbird island and the south breakwall are some of the better spots to go fishing. Here anglers can target Tailor, Bream, Mulloway and even Snapper.

What fishing gear to use at Coffs Creek?

Fishing Coffs Creek, a 2-4kg spin outfit with braid and fluorocarbon leader will cover most fishing when chasing Bream, Flathead, Whiting and Luderick. Mangrove Jack can be caught on the same gear but they will pull hard initially resulting in snapped leaders! So be ready to lose some gear, going heavier you may end up with less bites.

Fishing off Coffs Harbour rock walls will require a bit heavier setup and a longer rod is best, for a tailor a 4kg outfit will cover it, when chasing Jewfish a 10kg is preferred with a long 9ft+ beach rod as this will cover the headlands and beaches.
