Corindi River is situated at beautiful Red Rock, a sleepy holiday town and fishing location for travelers. The river 30km long, 60km north of Coffs Harbour it has a shallow river mouth however the river is quite deep from the boat at Red Rock and upstream. There are several sanctuary zones in Corindi River so check the maps or ask a local before going fishing in Corindi River.
Corindi River has some great land based fishing spots where anglers can target Flathead, Bream, Whiting, Tailor and even Mulloway. The best way to fish Corindi River is via a Kayak or Boat, then anglers can head further upstream and target Mangrove Jack in the snags with lures.
Corindi is one of the fee creeks along the north coast without a breakwall, so anglers wanting to target Tailor and Mulloway are limited to the beaches with the occasional Mulloway caught in Corindi itself.
Accommodation is provided by a caravan park or a holiday house, there is also a general store for supplies.
Fishing Corindi River, a 4-6kg spin outfit with braid and fluorocarbon leader will cover most fishing when chasing Bream, Flathead, Whiting and Luderick.
Fishing for a tailor is a bit different but a 6kg outfit will cover most Tailor, 10kg is preferred with a long 8ft+ beach rod. Mulloway will require a more heavy duty setup, around 15kg will cover it.
