Denmark Fishing

Denmark is a beautiful small town which provides fantastic fishing spots for all anglers whether land based or via small boat. Many fishing spots around Denmark are easily accessible for all vehicles, however some of the best fishing is done via boat or a four wheel drive is required.

The main fishing attraction of Denmark is Wilson Inlet which is fed by Little, Denmark and Hay Rivers. Land, boat and kayak based anglers can enjoy fantastic fishing in Denmark for species such as Pink Snapper, Australian Salmon, Skippy, Herring, Mulloway, Whiting, Blue Spotted Flathead and some amazing Black Bream fishing.

Wilson Inlet

Wilson Inlet is isolated from the ocean however every year Wilson Inlet opens at the mouth to connect to the ocean, which helps the inlet flush and remains prestine all year round.

Wilson Inlet has great fishing and is famous for producing Pink Snapper. When the sandbar at the mouth is close to breaking open the Snapper tend to gather around the mouth, this is a good time to target them on soft plastics. During the Summer months Pink Snapper can be found in the deeper holes and are best targeted on soft plastics.

Wilson Inlet also fishes well for Blue Spotted Flathead with fish up to 3kg being caught often. The flathead tend to hang around sand bars or near structure and will readily take small minnows and soft plastics. Trolling for flathead in Wilson Inlet is also a great way to find fish.

Anglers can also target King George whiting and Black Bream which are found throughout the Inlet and up Hay and Denmark Rivers.
