Where to go fishing near Harry’s Hut Kayak Launch?

  • Halls Reef Good reef fishing for Snapper, Tailor and Sweetlip in Winter. Mackerel and Tuna in Summer
  • Noosa North Reef Good reef in about 35-45m of water. Produces good snapper fishing during Winter. Reef extends north
  • Noosa North Reef Reef in about 45m of water. Good reef fishing for Snapper during Winter. Mackerel in Summer.
  • Independence shipwreck Shipwreck in about 7m of water. Hold reef fish at times.
  • Jew Shoal Snapper Good snapper particularly in Winter,  about 19m of water.
  • The Pin Patchy reef in about 14m of water.
  • Jew Shoal Reef Reefy area with ledges and drop offs from 9-17m deep. Known to produce Jewfish around the steep dropoff. Also fished well for Snapper, Mackerel, Tuna, Cobia and Sweetlip.
  • Massouds Reef Approximately 38-40m deep. Good reef fishing here at times.
  • Misery Reef Approximately 29-30m deep. Good reef fishing at times.
  • Sunshine Reefs Varying depths from 24m to 36m. Good reef fishing for Snapper in Winter.
  • Baileys Reef Good reef ranging from 30-36m deep. Produce good reef species like Snapper and Sweetlip. Mackerel here during summer
  • Castaways Reef Castaways reef is about 32+ m deep. A popular spot amongst Noosa anglers. The reef produces Snapper, Mulloway, Mackerel and Sweetlip.
  • Lake Cootharaba Entrance Fish the incoming and out going tide with soft plastics and pink hard body minnows lures for Dusky Flathead. Target the drop offs, cast into the shallow and work the lure into the deeper water with the tide.
  • Noosa River Upper Reaches Australian Bass head further upstream in Summer. Surface lures work well and make for exciting fishing. Outboard motor's are prohibited from Harry's Hut and upstream.
  • Noosa River Narrows The Noosa River holds good numbers of native Australian Bass. The heavy structure is best fish with spinner baits, hard body minnows and weedless soft plastic rigs. From Figtree Point upstream is prime bass country.
  • Kin Kin Creek Heavy structure is home to Bass, Bream, Tarpon and Mangrove Jack. Work hard body minnows and soft plastics tight in structure. Skipping soft plastic lures under the over hanging branches is also effective.
  • Sunshine Beach Sunshine Beach to Coolum stretches approximate 14km. During the cooler months is a good time to target Tailor and Mulloway at dawn and dusk. Dirty water from creek runoffs is a good place to try for Mulloway and Tailor. Throughout the year Bream, Flathead, Whiting and Dart are regularly catches along Sunshine Beach.
  • Paradise Caves / Sunshine Beach Headland A easily accessed fishing spot with good rock platforms provide access to deeper waters. At dawn and dusk is the best time to target larger fish here including Mulloway and Tailor in the cooler months. Year round anglers can expect Bream, Dart and Flathead.
  • Alexandria Bay The long walk to Alexandria Bay means it is rarely fished. However the effort may well be worth it, anglers can expect Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Tailor and Dart. There is generally always some good gutters to choose from.
  • Little Cove, Tea Tree Bay & Granite Bay For some reason the bays and headlands of the Noosa National Park aren’t fished very often. The long walk out to the points is a possible reason. The fishing along the bays and headlands can produce Bream, Flathead, Whiting and Dart throughout the year. Mulloway and Tailor are also caught particularly late afternoons from Winter to late Spring.
  • Noosa Groyne Close to town, the Groyne Beach has Bream, Flathead and Dart. The odd Tailor in Winter.
  • Noosa North Shore The northshore provides access to the Noosa River mouth, here anglers can target Flathead, Bream and Dart. North Shore is a a popular spot in Winter for Tailor.
  • Teewah Beach Teewah Beach stretches for roughly 50km. Drive along the beach and look for deep gutters for the best fishing. In Winter Tailor are the main targeted species. Jewfish will also turn up in the deeper gutters particularly at night.Summer pelagics can come in close to shore. Golden Trevally, Mackerel and Tuna are caught during the Summer. For the rest of the year, Tarwhine and Dart the main catch long the beach.
  • Double Island Point Access to fish here is via four wheel drive only. Jewfish can be targeted at night, they are most abundant during the cooler months. During Summer it is not uncommon to find pelagics like Golden Trevally, School Mackerel, Longtail Tuna and even the odd Cobia around headland.
  • Jew Hole Noosa Deep hole holds Jew / Mulloway. Bream in winter and the odd Mangrove Jack in summer.
  • Munna Bridge Fish around the bridge pylons for Trevally, Bream and the odd Mangrove Jack in summer.
  • Teewah Beach Whiting, Flathead and Tailor in the shallows, Bream in the deeper water. 4x4 access only via Tewantin Ferry.
  • Weyba Creek Flathead in gaps of the sea grass, whiting and bream feeding amongst the sea grass.
  • Noosa River Eddy Fish the eddy on the run out tide for Tailor, Bream and Trevally.
  • Noosa River Mouth Cast slugs for Tailor and Trevally. Around the Corner Bream and Whiting along the river bank.
  • Fairy Pools Good land based fishing spot near Noosa for Mulloway, Trevally and the odd Cobia and Kingfish.
  • Elanda Point Kayak Launch Elanda
