The Thomas River is located in the Cape Aria national park around 80km from Esperance. The beach at Thomas River produces fantastic Salmon fishing during the Salmon season, Easter and September to October is the best time to target them. The beach fishing around Thomas River mouth is also well known for producing Mulloway and skippy.
Cape Arid offers some great camping spots within the National Park which provide 4WD only access only to prime fishing spots.
Beach launching near Thomas River is also possible where anglers will find Pink Snapper and King George Whiting not far offshore all year round.
Salmon fishing is good all year round with fish from 2-5kg regularly taken, however from November to February the Salmon fishing is even better and the average size is 5-8kg.
The Herring run follows after the Salmon run however Herrings are available all year around.
