The Australian Bonito is only found along the east coast of Australia, however in Western Australia there is a leaping Bonito, distinguished from its blue dotting.
Bonitos are a predatory fish that will regularly take lures from shore or trolling. From the same family as mackerel, tuna, and Spanish mackerel tribes the Australian Bonito will put up a good fight on light gear
