Grass Emperor Lethrinus laticaudis

Grass Emperor are common around 30-40 cm but can grow to 60cm, over 5kg and live for up to 12 years.

Like all Emperors, Grass Emperors are found in tropical waters from Shark Bay around the top to Queensland. Grass Emperor are commonly called Black Snapper in Western Australis and Tricky Snapper in the Northern Territory.

The Grass Emperor will readily take small natural coloured soft plastics around reef structure. In deeper water where there is a rubble bottom, jigging soft plastics and small vibes is productive.
